The International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) supported by the Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is conducting a capacity building program for journalists interested in covering climate change stories. The program will give journalists a combination of in-class knowledge and field exposure that will inform them on the climate change issues facing Bangladesh and help identify news stories and features.
10 journalists from Bangladesh or working in Bangladesh will be selected to participate in a two-day workshop and a four-day field visit. The interactive workshop will be held between March 28-29 in Dhaka at the Asia Pacific Hotel in Baridhara, Dhaka and be facilitated by experts and a senior journalist working in climate change. Topics covered will include climate science, migration, adaptation, mitigation, climate finance, loss and damage, climate negotiations and many more. The 4-day field trip will be guided by an expert field coordinator and visit communities experiencing climate change. The field trip will take place tentatively in May 2016. Meals will be provided for the workshop. Transport from Dhaka and accommodation will be provided for the field trip.
