Shahrin is currently working as a Project Assistant under Climate Youth Initiative Program. She has previously worked in a project called “Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of Ward No 14 of Mymensingh Paurashava” as a research assistant and has the experience of dealing with youth to make them aware of earthquake vulnerability. She has also worked as a team member in a project sponsored by Planning Commission Bangladesh where she worked with community based organizations, young leaders and key personnel to have a brief idea about major problems faced by the inhabitants of Ward no 22, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She worked as an intern at “Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust” where she had the experience of working for inclusive planning. While working for inclusive planning, she presented proposals in different platforms like DSCC and Institute of Architects Bangladesh.
Shahrin has a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). For being in such a diversified discipline, she thoroughly studied the necessity of development of our country and the role of youth in this journey. She is pursuing her Master’s degree in Development Studies from University of Dhaka. From the thrive to work for the development and more specifically to work with youth she participated in different projects and finally joined Climate Youth Initiative Program. During her university years, she was the event secretary of Students Association of her department and conducted many events, talk shows etc.
