Kathinka Fossum

Kathinka Fossum Evertsen is a Visiting Researcher with ICCCAD, currently undertaking her PhD in Sociology at Nord University in Norway. She holds an MSc in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action at SciencesPo, France, and a BA in Political Science from University of Oslo, Norway. In 2014 Kathinka was based at ICCCAD, conducting research into how gender influence the potential use of migration as an adaptation strategy to climate change. Her current research builds on this topic, and explores relations between climate change, migration, gender and adaptation-related aid, focusing on women’s perspectives. The over-arching aim of project is to obtain a better understanding of whether, and under what circumstances, migration can function as an adaptation strategy for women in response to environmental stressors.
