Sumaiya Binte Anwar

Research Officer

Sumaiya is an Engineer-turned-Climate enthusiast passionate about research in climate change issues and their effects. She currently works at ICCCAD as a Research Officer on Climate Induced Migration. Prior to working here, she worked as an assistant Engineer in Bangladesh Erectors Limited (BEL).

Sumaiya graduated from Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) with an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and finished her master’s in Environmental Management from Independent University Bangladesh (IUB). During her master’s she got the opportunity to complete her final semester under the CNRD (Centers for natural resources and development) exchange program in TH Köln, Germany. She nurtures a keen interest on Integrated Water Resource Management and Security Implications of climate change. Sumaiya is an aspiring photographer and loves travelling.
