The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) with support from the Action on Climate Today (ACT) programme organized a two-day long training workshop entitled ‘Training on Climate Budgeting in Bangladesh’ for young journalists and budget activists from September 18th to 19th, 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This training workshop brought together a group of journalists and budget activists to enhance their knowledge on climate finance and building their capacity in different aspects of climate budget analysis for tracking climate expenditures by the government. The workshop also focused on the ‘Role of Media in relation to Climate Finance’ and trained the young journalists on how to make good climate budget story. In relation to this, the participants were asked to submit their own report covering climate finance/climate budget story of Bangladesh. Later on, out of 32 participants, articles of two participants (Mr. Faijullah Wasif and Mr. Shaheeduzzaman Sagor) came out the best and they are awarded to participate in the ‘3rd International Short Course on Climate Finance’ jointly organized by ICCCAD, ACT, and UNDP with scholarship to be taken place from 29th to 1st November, 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
